Right now, there are 150 local kids waiting for a Big Buddy. And chances are, they'll be on that list tomorrow. In fact, most children on the Big Buddy waiting list do just that-wait, and wait, and wait-many for a year or more.

BUT YOU CAN HELP.

In years past, Big Buddy has sponsored a walkathon in order to help raise the funds we so desperately need to allow us to continue to match children with a Big Buddy. We're not hosting a walkathon this year-because we are a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization with a small operating staff, organizing and hosting the walkathon ended up simply taking too much time…time that could've been spent doing things that directly impact the children we aim to serve.

THIS YEAR, WE'RE TAKING A MORE DIRECT APPROACH.

We're simply asking for you to look into your heart, and into your wallet-and then, make a tax-deductible donation to the Big Buddy program. Your donation of $25 $50, $100 or more will help us continue to provide services to local children.

" A $25 donation would pay for 500 flyers to recruit mentors
" A $50 donation would cover the cost of printing 60 volunteer training manuals
" A $100 donation would cover the screening and training for one Big Buddy
