SKILTECH SIGNS ONE WEEK NAMING RIGHTS WITH SUNS
Small Business Gives $95 to Change Name to SkilTech Field at Municipal Stadium

August 15, 2003-HAGERSTOWN, MD-On Monday, August 18, 2003, the Hagerstown Suns and web design and hosting firm SkilTech, Inc. will enter into a one-week partnership that includes naming the team's park "SkilTech Field at Municipal Stadium" through August 24, 2003.

At Monday night's game (scheduled start: 7.05PM) John Skilton, President of SkilTech, Inc. will present Kurt Landes, General Manager of the Hagerstown Suns with a check made out in the sum of $95 (ninety-five dollars). Then, Landes will proclaim the ballpark SkilTech Field at Municipal Stadium, and the game will begin.

'We're thrilled, honored and elated to have the Suns' ballpark named after our company, even if it is for just a week,' noted John Skilton. 'For a small business like ourselves, a major league naming rights deal isn't an option, but supporting our customers and local teams certainly is. '

'On the night of the announcement, and throughout the week, we'll have banners showing the field's new name,' said Landes. 'Also, we'll be sure to let our staff and volunteers know to remind people that it's not just Municipal Stadium any more-it's SkilTech Field at Municipal Stadium. I suspect it will be confusing at first, but I'm certain people will get used to it…but by the time they get used to it, the name will have already changed back,' concluded Landes.

SkilTech Inc. will be giving away a free business web site (design and hosting) to one lucky winner as part of their week-long celebration. For years, large corporations have paid obscene amounts of money to have major league sporting venues named after their business. 'We saw the whole $95 million dollar, 25-year partnership between Citizen's Bank and the Philadelphia Phillies,' said Skilton, 'and that got us thinking. We certainly didn't have an extra $95,000,000 lying around, but we could probably part with $95. Of course, $95 doesn't get you 25 years' worth of naming rights, but we still feel like it's a good deal.'
